John B. Gagliardo is a highly accomplished financial investigator and executive with over 45 years of experience in federal law enforcement and contract investigative roles. He retired from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS-CI) as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) of the New York Field Office, the country's largest and most productive IRS office—where he directed high-profile financial crimes investigations, oversaw asset forfeiture programs, and managed extensive investigative teams. Throughout his distinguished IRS career, he also served as a Senior Analyst at IRS Headquarters in Washington, D.C., overseeing sensitive undercover operations and national informant programs, and held leadership roles across New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Following his retirement from federal service, Mr. Gagliardo continued to support the federal law enforcement mission as a Senior Financial Investigator and Outside Contractor for multiple agencies. He has spearheaded complex asset forfeiture and proceeds-tracing cases for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York (EDNY), the FDA’s Office of Criminal Investigations (FDA-OCI), and Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI). His extensive investigative expertise spans white-collar crime, criminal tax fraud, money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act violations, public corruption, and international racketeering schemes—ultimately leading to the identification and seizure of hundreds of millions of dollars in illicit proceeds.
Mr. Gagliardo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from William Paterson College and has completed advanced federal law enforcement, supervisory, and executive management training. Throughout his tenure with the United States Government, he has held top-level security clearances.
