I have been preparing taxes for over 35 years and is the founder and owner/operator of Kenneth Portera & Associates LLC, a year-round tax preparation and accounting practice I launched in 2009. My firm provides tax controversy representation, tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, non-profits and gift tax filings. Prior to forming my business, I held the positions of CEO, CFO, Treasurer, and Controller for several financial service companies.
I hold an undergraduate degree in accounting from Pace University and completed additional specialized graduate courses at the New School.
I also taught as an adjunct for 13 years in the City University system as part of their accounting and finance department.
I'm a Enrolled Agent license and an Accredited Tax Professional. I have also served on the Executive Board of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) and is a past director of the New Jersey Society of Enrolled Agents (NJSEA).
